I actually did this by accident this year and wow! When you actually verbalise your expectations for yourself, no wonder you feel bummed out that you’re not reaching them - because no responsible sane person can do all the things on the list!!

It was completely freeing! Highly recommend.

Yes this was true for me too! It's like, no human can do this. Glad you found it freeing -- I think it will be for everyone else reading, too.

I think I feel like I should be someone I’m not. Someone who wakes up at 5am or 6am, does their morning rituals, then smashes work out, spends time with family, gives back to the community, tends to their garden, exercises, and makes a nutritious organic home cooked meal, while keeping the house perfectly immaculate and decorated like it’s out of a home decor magazine.

She probably exists somewhere, but the point is, it’s not me. And that’s ok. Like truly. That’s ok. 💕💕💕

1000%! There's a lot of noise out there that makes that person seem "superior" but really, I'm convinced that she can't exist and also be calm. I've tried to be her too! Turns out letting her go is better :)

I oscillate between the two - “yes she exists, try harder” (my companion for many years) and “we are not robots, we don’t have to do it all” (my more recent companion).

The latter encourages play, curiosity and flow. I like her a lot better! ☺️
